Introduction

Premier is looking for a code 14 driver to manage the allocated load and/ or vehicle on the assigned route to ensure products are delivered without incurring any damages.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum level of education / Grade 12 certificate
• Valid, unendorsed Code 14 driver’s license with valid PrDP

Required Experience

• 5-10 years driving experience preferably on a Scania, M Benz and MAN vehicle
• Clean driving record
• Clean criminal record
• Communication skills – Verbal and written
• Good reading and writing skills
• Must be medically fit
• Hands on and practical approach to the job

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the vehicle.
• Day to day inspection of the vehicle and reporting of all faults and serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Completing vehicle inspection sheet and refuelling of vehicles.
• Loading and off-loading various foods products including pallets.
• Keep the truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
• Ensure adherence to the Road Traffic Act and ensure the safety of other road users.
• Abide by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Abide by company policies and the regulations of the road.
• Ensuring the vehicles are loaded correctly as well as checking documentation against the loads.
• Ensure that correct quantities and loads are delivered.
• Ensure all proof of deliveries are signed on delivery as well (POD’s, etc).
• Navigate your way around Gauteng and surrounding areas.
• Maintaining company vehicle in a good condition /good housekeeping.
